  • Chairman:- STILL looking for Committee members , in particular a chairman and vice chairman. New members may be contacted to see if they can help. No officers – no U3A!
  • The policy of our U3A is not to announce the names of deceased members at the meeting but to post an announcement on the notice board. Group leaders are asked to let a member of the committee know if a member of their group dies or is ill.
  • There is a major change in the law relating to charities which is going to have a major impact on our constitution. These changes will be published and announced in due course.
  • Family History group meets on Thursday 11th Jan at 3.00 in the Centre for Bucks Studies. Members with Buckinghamshire family connections, even if they are not normally members of the group, will be most welcome when extra resources for Bucks searches will be available.
  • Scottish Dancing meets 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month at Meadowcroft 1.30-3.30. Whilst there are various varieties of Scottish dancing, this group practices the AVU3A style!
  • Photographic group meets next on Wed 17th at Stone Chapel, followed by a lunch. Annual subs for the group are £10
  • Local Walks 16th Jan starts Grendon Underwood at 10.00 followed by pub lunch
  • Psychology group Tues 23rd at Tennis Club. DVD of Warsaw Ghetto folowed by discussion.
  • London Walks – no walk this month, instead a review of 2017 walks. Quainton Village Hall on Fri 26th January
  • History Group will be looking at life in Victorian times. 1St & 3rd Tuesdays .New members welcome
  • Ten Pin bowling 10a.m every Monday
  • Ukulele group meets at Stoke Mandeville Community Centre 1st & 3rd Wed 1.30 -3.30
  • Maxine is organising a charity coffee morning in aid of Prostrate Cancer at her home on 23rd February
  • The trip to the Hindu Temple is now full but there is a waiting list.
  •  It is hoped to start a Theatre Workshop Group
  • The closing date for the March newsletter is mid February- articles urgently needed
  • Military History group covers a wide range of topics on the 1st Wed, meeting Methodist Church hall Stoke Mandeville.
  • Coffee Morning TUESDAY 16th Jan Broad Leys pub 10.30
  • Changes to Wed meetings – next month ‘Pay or not to Pay’ by Alan Watson, Wed 10th Oct will now be ‘The Lenborough Hoard’
