Canasta is a card game that was very popular some time ago and is somewhere between Whist and Bridge, while at the same time quite different.
We meet in each other’s homes and currently have 3 venues on each date in order to give everyone at least one game a month.
The game using two packs of cards is played in pairs and we have just one table i.e. 4 players in each venue so that it is not too difficult to host. I do the rota for three months in advance, which means that anyone wishing to join a group will be slotted in when I am preparing the next one.
Don’t let this discourage you as all are welcome, beginners as well as those with more experience, but please let me know in good time if you are interested in joining us.
