Geoff Young is starting a new group in the autumn to study English Social History. From the Industrial Revolution and the Luddites through the advances in Victorian Public Health to our modern Welfare State, the group have a wide area to cover and members will be expected to participate. The Olympic Torch Arrives Monday 9th July

For 70 days between the 19^th May and 27^th July the Olympic Torch will be taken by 8000 torch bearers across the country and will be arriving in Aylesbury from Whitchurch on Monday 9^th July starting in the Buckingham Road at 11.15 The torch will pass through the town centre, down Walton Street, Walton Road and the Grange School. Continuing down Wendover Way into Wendover Road to leave Aylesbury for Stoke Mandeville at 11.54 and arrive at the Stadium at 12.29 It will then leave Aylesbury by convoy to arrive in Waddesdon for an 11.47 start.

Our Bowlers Strike Again

Following the recent closure of Jardines Bowling in Aylesbury our bowling group did not give up. They now catch an early bus to High Wycombe where they meet at the 22 Lane AMF Bowl. They are always happy to welcome new members, so why not visit their group page if this activity interests you?

Summer Schools 2012

The Third Age trust has arranged two Summer Schools this year, one at the Harper Adams College, Telford, from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th July and the second, at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd August. In addition, the U3A South East Forum is arranging a Summer School at the University of Chichester from Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th July. Click here for further information.

Scottish Dancing Display

Our members were pleasantly surprised with an impromptu display of Scottish Dancing during the interval at our monthly meeting. Their dance leader, Greig turned out resplendent in his kilt.
