This is a new group with eight new members. At present this is the largest number Heather can cope with at her home.
The group will cover the basics of patchwork – from choosing and cutting the material through to piecing a block and joining the blocks into a quilt top. We will learn how to add frames and borders to enhance the work. We will baste the pieced quilt top, batting and backing fabric together and explore different techniques to quilt the three layers before binding the edges. The group will start out working on the same project but as confidence increases it is expected that members will choose to work on separate projects.
The group will continue to offer support, share equipment and give everyone an opportunity to exchange ideas.
