The Bowls group runs from May to mid September like the Cricket season.  We play at Aylesbury Town Bowls Club and this incurs no extra charge for anyone who is a full member of that club.

For others, it is now £15.00 payable in two parts.  Ten pounds buys Social membership of the club and entitles you to all social functions, including use of the bar etc. and also the ability to bowl on the designated club night, currently on a Friday when a Spoon Drive and a Hot Dog afterwards provides a very pleasant social evening for the cost of £1.00 and a chance to win a cash prize.  These events are decided by the club and can change but there will be at least one evening each week when you can play.  The second £5.00 covers the green fees for the whole of our weekly Thursday morning U3A group.

Dress Code. The club have relaxed their strict dress rules for us on Thursday mornings and we can wear casual dress though correct Bowls shoes (not sandals) are essential. When playing at other times, i.e. Club social evenings then regulation grey and white bowling dress is necessary.

We have the use of the club house and can make coffee if we wish.  There are a few spare sets of bowls that we can borrow if anyone wants to try out the game before committing themselves to any further expense so do come along and give it a try before deciding – the first session is free.

Apart from our Roll Ups we have two competitions during the summer and there is also a fixture against Aylesbury Town when we can experience a real Match with a meal afterwards and all the etiquette that goes with it – great fun!

Beginners and experienced players are equally welcome so don’t be shy, it’s a wonderful game with lots of fresh air and fellowship.
