We will be starting at the end of September and will finish at the end of March – the dates will be confirmed on the Group Tables at the monthly meetings and updated here on this page. The format for 2009/2010 will be much the same as last year. This has proved to be very successful and we are sure that members who contributed also found it stimulating and those who listened found it interesting. The main aim is to find individual member’s interests and give them a chance to research them and discuss their findings at the meeting. This may sound daunting but it is good fun and enjoyed by all and it is surprising how a meeting develops when you find it jogs your own memory. See some suggested topics below.
Last year we looked at the Kings Edward, with different members taking a single King and finding out what they could about them. This year we hope to take a similar theme but this time “Ladies of Note” (see below), and this topic can be taken how you like as long as you contribute. Last year we used the January meetings for this and we propose to do the same in 2010.
As usual our group leader, Geoff Young, will be organising lunches (see below) at the college and an outing or two to places of historic interest.
New members are welcome and we look forward to their participation on their favourite subjects.
