The main purpose of this group is for members, either male or female, who may be on their own or whose partners are not so socially minded, to be able to meet up with other members for outings, coffee mornings, lunch, shopping, pictures etc.
The idea is that once members of the group get to know each other better they will then contact each other and arrange to do things together.
The Group has had a very successful year with a membership of around 30 and most monthly meetings are well attended and lively.
During the past year, we have been to the Lord Mayor’s show in London, visited Hampton Court Flower Show (although the weather on that day was not kind to us). We went on a coach trip which followed the `Blossom Trail’ through villages in the Cotswolds; had several visits to the theatre at both Waterside and Thame: and enjoyed many evening meals together, catering for all tastes in turn. Within the membership, new friendships have been forged resulting in individually arranged shopping trips, coffee mornings and afternoon teas, trips to the seaside, and craft fairs.
