IMPORTANT – Suspension of ALL activities

Following the Government’s official statement on 16th March we the Committee feel that we have no option but to suspend all our U3A meetings, trips, outings, functions including Group Meetings until further notice.

We trust you will follow all the guidelines to avoid getting this virus. If any member is unfortunate and does get the virus please inform the Chairman, Sheila Satterthwaite  because we have to notify Head Office. Please take care and keep well.

Dan wishes to let you know that all coach trips for this year have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for 2021

All Thames Valley Network Day Courses are postponed. Any cheques sent with applications will be shredded

We hope that we will be able to keep in touch with you and keep you up to date by this website or email.

Sadly there are people out there prepared to take advantage of the situation so Thames Valley Police have warned about strangers calling offering to do shopping, bogus on-line shopping sites and offers of coronavirus self testing kits.(no legitimate company is yet offering these).

The Third Age Trust is providing up to date information on their website and in their National Newsletter

Isolation

Are you a Rook or a Crow?
You’ll soon find out you know.

If you are a community bird you’ll look,
To see what’s going on, like a rook.
If you are content and happy to lie low.
You are solitary, like a crow.

Whichever you are does not matter.
You can pick up the phone and have a natter.

Some will shine and come to the fore.
Pick up essentials for the needy and lonely next door.

Don’t look up things that get you down.
Out of the window there’s flower waving life. Try not to frown.

This curfew/isolation may be lifted/ relaxed any day.
Then it’s back to socialising with the U3A.

Warm wishes
Pip
