Notice about renewing membership 2020
You will be aware that this is the time of year when you are invited to renew your membership of Aylesbury Vale U3A.
Our constitution states that membership and financial year run from 1st August to 31st July the following year.
We are all aware of the unprecedented circumstances we find ourselves in at this time and that we have been unable to meet and enjoy the activities we are accustomed to, however, there is no doubt that at some time soon we will be able to return to some semblance of normality. Indeed, some groups have continued to meet using internet links and they must be commended for their ingenuity.
Many of you will be aware that following our move from Meadowcroft to Stoke Mandeville Stadium for the monthly meetings we incurred substantial extra costs. The committee, on the recommendation of the Treasurer, agreed that these extra costs could be absorbed during 2019/20 but that there would need to be an increase in fees for the year 2020/21. However, because there have been no meetings held since March and there will not be a monthly meeting before September at the very earliest, possibly not this year, the savings allow the Treasurer to abandon the rise in fees for this coming year.
The annual membership renewal fee for August 1st 2020 to July 31st 2021 will be £15
The renewal process is vital if we are to keep our U3A functioning. There are fixed annual fees that must be paid to the Third Age Trust for membership and the necessary insurance for our groups that it covers. There is also the cost of the software system and the Third Age Matters magazine which many of you enjoy.

This year we have altered the format of the form to enable you to complete it on line and return it electronically(see notes below). You can simply complete the form, save it on your computer, then Email the completed form to me at firstname.lastname@example.org You can, of course, still print a copy, if you prefer. I will issue your new membership badges by return if you include a SAE with your cheque, or if you pay by Bank Transfer I will endeavour to issue them through other channels.

Please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box if you are a tax payer as this is an important source of revenue for your U3A.
